Dr Susan Kok

Dr Susan Kok is a local and internationally trained Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. She was born in Sydney and grew up on the upper North Shore. Dr Kok attended Abbotsleigh College in Wahroonga, and completed her final two years of high school at Hornsby Girls’ High School. She graduated from Dentistry, University of Otago with Credit and from Medicine, Sydney University with Honours. Dr Kok has over 8 years’ experience as a private dental surgeon and over 10 years experience in the public hospital system. Dr Kok is highly proficient in all areas of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. She has completed her intern and resident years at Prince of Wales Hospital, as well as a Senior Surgical Resident year at Sydney Children’s Hospital Randwick. Dr Kok has undergone Registrar training in both NSW and New Zealand, where she has had extensive experience in Maxillofacial trauma, Orthognathic Surgery, Temporomandibular Joint procedures, and Oncological surgery. She is a Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon at Prince of Wales Hospital, Sydney Children’s Hospital, Gosford Hospital and Wyong Hospital. Dr Kok is the Head of Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery for the Central Coast Local Health District, and holds the FRACDS (OMS) from the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons. Dr Kok is the first female medically qualified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon to open a practice in Sydney, and provides the full scope of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

Dr Anthony Bertram

Anthony was born in Canberra and raised and schooled in the Sutherland Shire in Sydney, where he attended Inaburra Private School. He then studied undergraduate degrees in both Dentistry and Medicine at the University of Sydney over the next 9 years. Whilst studying he worked as a general dentists in Wollongong, Shellharbour and Menai. He completed his general medical years at Bankstown and Campbelltown hospitals in Southwest Sydney. Formal Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training was undertaken in Level 1 Trauma public hospitals at Westmead, Newcastle and Canberra over a 5 year period. Anthony then spent 12 months as a full time Consultant in complex Maxillofacial reconstructive microsurgery and trauma surgery at John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle and Gosford Hospital.

Anthony is currently a Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon at Westmead Public Hospital, tradionally the major centre of training for Maxillofacial Surgery for NSW and the ACT. Anthony is involved in the training of specialist Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery registrars and has a keen interest in research. He has published several articles in peer reviewed journals and was awarded the Australian Dental Journal prize for Clinical Excellence in 2013.

Anthony holds full general Dental, general Medical and specialist Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery registrations with AHPRA. He is skilled in all aspects of both Oral Surgery and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is able to provide high quality Specialist care to all patients, and operates privately throughout Sydney, the South Coast, and the Central Coast. Anthony’s interests outside of work include surfing, motorsports and fishing.
